HEATING SAMPLE PROJECTS

BOILER AND HVAC RENOVATION SCHOOL AND SANCTUARY
To serve a church sanctuary a new boiler with circulating pumps and package rooftop unit with economizer were installed. For the classrooms and cafeteria area the existing packaged terminal air-conditioning units were removed and four new split systems were installed with hot water coils in the air-handling units. The project included all needed outside air, supply air and return air ductwork, outside air louvers, supply and return air grilles, water balance and an electronic control system with zone sensors.

CHURCH STEAM BOILER HEATING AND CHILLER COOLING
Provided design and installation of a 49 hp gas fired boiler and 125-ton water-cooled chiller for an older church facility. The project included piping design, demolition of the existing steam boiler, heat exchangers and associated equipment and piping.

OIL BOILER REPLACEMENT WITH GAS
Removed four fuel oil fired burners and installed gas fired units in a church. Included new zone pumps, hot water heater, extensive water piping and controls.

INFRARED HEAT FOR VEHICLE MAINTENANCE FACILITY
Improved comfort conditions and productivity for mechanics working in a vehicle maintenance facility of a premier highway contractor by designing and installing an infrared heating system. This system allows objects within the shop, the concrete floor, vehicles being repaired, workbenches, etc., to absorb heat and they in turn heat the surrounding air and mechanics working in facility. Recovery time to heat the shop after opening and closing garage doors is rapid compared to a conventional forced-air system. The application consists of both suspended infra-red gas heaters for spot heating areas like inventory control and low intensity tubular infra-red gas heaters configured to “wrap” the entire building for heating the majority of the work space. These tubular units are able to be vented through the sidewall. For added comfort, the system was sized for a design day to provide adequate heat on even the coldest winter day.
